What matters most...

People!
When things get hectic, it is important to remember the things in life that matter the most. The relationships that we have are what will keep us going from exam to exam, lecture to lecture, practice to practice, and ultimately from day to day.

This Thursday come to FCA and get to know some great people. This week we will be pondering some questions in an effort to get to know each other better. Bring a friend or come prepared to make some new ones!

We hope to see you there! As always, God bless.

Welcome back!!!

Welcome back from Fall Break Cornell FCAers! As for Ithaca FCAers, you are almost there!

Regardless, we hope you are looking forward to this Thursday's speaker, Pastor Mike. Pastor Mike teaches at Agape Bible Church here in Ithaca and has his Sunday morning sermons televised to reach those in their homes who are seeking God or cannot come to church for other reasons. He is known for his amazing testimonies and his Brooklyn accent. Be there for a spirit filled time and a powerful message! We hope to see you there!

Additionally, remember to submit designs for the Cornell-Ithaca FCA t-shirts and sweaters. The deadline is quickly approaching, Oct. 22nd.

Saturday, September 27

If nothing else, remember these few facts...

1 John 2:3
"And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments."

That was heart of Malikie's message and an important distinction that we all need to address in our walk with Christ. If there was any verse that Malikie referenced and you would like to have, e-mail us at cornellithacafca@gmail.com and we'll send your requests to you.

Today is Homecoming! Go Big Red and go to the football game to support your alumni, school, and your fellow FCAers Tyler Lucas, Drew Alston, and all football players who have come lately! Afterwards bring your appetite and friends to the Mott House on 203 Wyckoff Ave for the FCA Homecoming and Alumni dinner! Click here for a map. The fun begins at 6:00 pm, giving you just enough time to dry off and get ready for the killer lasagna that James and Abby are preparing right now. We hope to see you there!

Lastly, Bible studies are every Sunday night at 9:00 pm. The men's is held at Alice Cook House and the women's at the Mott House. E-mail Tyler Lucas or Abby Marlow, or talk to anyone on the leadership team for more details!

SPRING BREAK TRIP 2008 - FCA is going to San Antonio!

DATES and TRAVEL INFO:
Option #1: Saturday March 15th to Saturday March 22nd
Option #2: Saturday March 15th to Thursday / Friday March 20/21st (to get back in time for Easter)
Note - these dates are somewhat flexible; we will try to accommodate your schedule.
We will drive from Ithaca to the Philadelphia area, where we will hop on a plane to San Antonio.
Feel free to research flights yourself, but we've found that Northwest Airlines from Philly to San Antonio is the cheapest flight plan.
We will coordinate flights to keep people together.

The DEADLINE for deciding if you would like to come on the trip is this Thursday, January 31st.
For planning purposes, we need to know by the 9PM meeting if you are definitely coming.
Note - there will be a separate but brief meeting after FCA on Thursday with all those signed up to go.

People coming on the trip are asked to pay for their own plane ticket - we estimate this will cost each person $200-275.
FCA will cover food, transportation, and lodging expenses.

If you have specific questions about the trip, contact the following people regarding:
- plane ticket and travel information: Mike Mackie mjm266@cornell.edu
- activities and service work in Texas: Josh Gonzalez jrg67@cornell.edu
- food & financial concerns: Rachael Sands rbs28@cornell.edu or Mere Odato mao33@cornell.edu
